Despite the prominent markings of “Hill” and “1831″, the identity of the manufacturer of this water pump in Hartfield isn’t as clear as the water. The Village Pumps web site suggests that the pump may have been made by George Hill of Hartfield who was a plumber, painter, glazier and farmer.
